Simpson Pump Station Modifications

Location: Village of Simpson, Fell Township

Description:

Pumping stations are essential components of the LRBSA wastewater conveyance system, helping transport wastewater from low-lying areas to higher elevations where it can flow by gravity through the sewer system. One such station serves the Village of Simpson in Fell Township. Originally built around 1970 and refurbished in 1999, this station is undergoing a project to replace its outdated pumping equipment and controls, enhancing both efficiency and reliability.

Additionally, the current pumping equipment is located in an underground chamber accessed only by a ladder. As part of the upgrade, the equipment will be moved to the ground surface, improving maintenance accessibility and overall safety.

Completed: January 2019

Construction Cost: $289,298
